On 13th of October, 2006, Valmiera Glass Fibre JSC celebrated the opening of its' new glass fibre production and textile processing unit and the 10th anniversary since the factory was transformed into a Joint Stock Company.

Take a look at the production process of glass fibre and glass fabrics: Glass pellets are transformed into glass fibre, which in further steps of processing is spooled and wound on bobbins, warped, and woven like any other yarn.

During winter season 2004 and 2005, JSC Valmieras stikla šķiedra financially supports the bobsleigh-teams of the Latvian Bobsleigh Federation. With their acknowledgeable results at international championships and with their printed bobs and sportswear the sportsmen remind the public of Latvia and the city of Valmiera.

 

Within the appreciated co-operation with the president of the Federation Mr Ekmanis the employees of the JSC Valmieras stikla šķiedra had the chance to be present at a championship in Sigulda, Latvia. After the race, the most courageous may take a bob-ride themselves, while the less brave chose the softer, though hardly slower vehicle "vuchko".
